‘Sundown’ Sketch’.

‘Sundown’ Sketch’ was done from this area of the beautiful East Pier of Dun Laoghaire Harbour. I always come back here. One thing to mention: I’m a ‘local artist’ and many of my sales are ‘in demand’ from here and surrounding area’s like; Blackrock, Dalkey, and Killiney. These I call ‘hotspots’. I DO love painting different areas, however, a lot of the work is not regarded as much. I KNOW as an artist this is a bad trait. if you can call it that. As I branch out more, I want and will paint outside of these areas.

This sketch based on this painting took me a few times to get that sky and luminous sun that I so much desired to get right! You see, with watercolour, you get ONE SHOT to get it right, anything after that, you’re chasing your tail. I didn’t want to overdo it. I was generally happy with the outcome i must say. Just fresh enough. Freshness is a relevant adjective here!

Sketch: Size A4. Pencil/coloured pencil.
