‘Winter Reflections’ River Dodder at Clonskeagh

This is a painting I did over the last week from a beautiful river just a ‘stone’s throw’ from Dublin City . It’s a quaint river that runs from Kippure, Co. Wicklow and passes through many Dublin Suburbs to Grand Canal Dock. Of course we’re talking about the Dodder River. A famous Dublin landmark and one of only two large rivers that run through Dublin City/surburbs – the other been: The River Tolka.

The painting is based on a pencil sketch done on site. I took many notes on tone, prespective and colour. Got home to make it into a studio painting.
