This is an acrylic studio painting from Courtown. Co. Wexford. Courtown is a lovely little quaint village on the East Coast of Ireland. I did a series of paintings from this location last month when I visited.
The subject was interesting for a variety of reasons; one being, that the composition was alluring. Two: the winter sun was evaporating and left silhouette shapes which makes for an interesting painting.
I always sketch beforehand to get my tonal values right.
