‘Silhouettes’ (Killiney Beach)

This watercolour was done in September this year from the attractive Killiney Beach, South County Dublin. There was a terrific spell of fine weather and I took great advantage of the fine weather. The sky and sea appealed to me. It was the serenity and stillness of the water. I was sitting on the pebbles sketching the people walk by. Also taking some notes in my sketchbook for this studio painting. There is a sepia (brown) tone to the whole painting which commands the whole area of the subject. The figures walking with their dogs give some scale and interest. Figures seem to look really beautiful when silhouetted – hence the title name.  (Watercolour Size: 15″ X 11″)
