The Pink Path, named aptly after the title says; however, I should have named it; ‘The Blue Chair’ after the famous iconic symbol of Nice France.
It’s a terrific city with lots to do and placed to go. We arrived there with not much apprehension. However, awakening on the first morning I knew it was going to be great. The sun, palm trees and lovely energetic people all make for a better break away from dreary ole’ Ireland.
I was pleasantly surprised with my finished watercolour as I didn’t expect it to be as detailed as it turned out. My mission statement was to get in the famous: ‘Blue Chair’, the symbol of Nice….(you learn something new every day). And of course, the wide ‘Pink Path’ promenade – It was wide too! It was of course based on this sketch which is also featured on my blog page. The sketch was loose and basic. I wanted to conyey the heat and exotic look of the beautiful Cote d’Azur. Of course it wouldn’t be Nice without the palm trees and a mulitude of colours of this ancient city in Southern France.
