Beautiful day at the gorgeous Cote d’Azur Nice, France. I was there for a few days the first week of October with friends. I was very impressed with this area, very classy and stylish.
I had taken a few photos and very quick sketches. I would have loved to have had time to do a Plein air sketch, but walking everywhere in this beautiful city didn’t really allow me.
Here is the result of my many photos and sketches of a perspective I thought would look very pleasant to the viewer. The whole background is mostly taken up with tourists walking. The famous blue chair of Nice is featured in the watercolour (top left), I wanted to instantly show anybody who knows this region would instantly recognise Nice. The wide promenade has taken up a good proportion of the painting, which i feel is required to give it ‘breathing space’.
