Sea Surf Sketch for painting was done this week from Dillon Park, Dalkey. The views are naturally stunning. Dalkey Island could be clearly seen from my vantage point. I was sitting on an old bench drawing in the freezing cold conditions trying to achieve the best composition and visual aspect for a watercolour painting.
Dalkey Island is a well know spot to most Dublin folk, and in general, most Irish people. The green’s in any painting is a challenge, be it grass or shrubbery. This took me a while to get it right through trial and error mixing subtle yellows and blues. However, I was eventually happy enough with the result. The flat rock (bottom right) brings you through the painting and gradually up to the Island.
