Sandycove Sketch. (painting to follow..)

This was an extremely cold and dull moring in Sandycove Co. Dublin. It’s a nice little corner about 400 metres from Dun Laoghaire town. Famous of course for its forty-foot swimming/diving area at the back near the rocks. In fact, it got to the New York Times in 2017 as one of the ‘Top swimming areas of the world’ by their Irish/European journalist here: top 10 swimming locations in the world – that’s saying something!!

Anyway, this is the pencil sketch, basic as it would appear..(including the vehicle that’s out of proportion👀 ) – it has meaning and purpose to me, that I can only comprehend. This will end up as a painting soon when I get some time. I prefer to sketch as apposed to Plein-air painting. I feel I can get more into a sketch, with notes and time, dates, etc, etc.
