I love boats out of the water as you get a true scale and perspective you never get when on the water. I painted this from the booth of my car….(my moble easel..LOL!) I’ve been here painting most of the week. i’m tired of painting areas near here repeatedly. I feel if i don’t put my self into paintings it gets monotonous and trying…it can be seen in the work.
The scene is linear: a line of yachts and boats along the dock side wall. The RIB and mid ground boat in the water hold the painting together, if i left them out the picture would look bland and drab…just the water.
