I wanted to bring freshness and colour into a somewhat ordinary and mundane scene in real life. I tried to capture the vast openness as realistically as possible while bringing my own style into the work. The main focus is the title: The couple walking on the beach..(Saturday Stroll). I enjoyed doing the various subtle colours of the sand and sedge grass and figures. In the background, there’s lots of activity that brings the viewer’s attention around the painting to the Roundstone cement plant and right Hanging Rock Beach.
